Lepidas gorge area is very beautiful and a delight to to walk along. It has two waterfalls 800m one from the other. Spring is the ideal time of visiting because there is plenty of water and one may admire the 80 different herbs and plants of the area, or even swim.
Next stop the beautiful village of Platanos, traditional settlement also, surrounded by a forest, well known for the water flows all over the village all year long. Many cherry trees also. Late spring there is a cherry festival with different events.
Kastanitsa is an impressive traditional village with big stone built white houses with grey schistolithic roofs in a forest of a fir trees and chestnut trees. After walking through the narrow, picturesque roads you may enjoy different recipes based on chestnut at the main square, also unique mountain tea and tsipouro. In October there is a chestnut festival with various cultural events.
